About Me

I'm gonna be honest. My initial plan for the Bio page was to write something resembling a Wikipedia article and that it'd be written from a third-person perspective to make it sound all fancy and whatnot. I then quickly realized I haven't accomplished nearly enough with my music to justify writing an article like that. I also don't wanna come off sounding pretentious, so I'm gonna write this from my own perspective and just be myself.

Hi, my name is Aaron and I write music. It's a passion I've had for almost my entire life. I've never learned how to read sheet music; anything I play I do so by ear. As a kid I've enjoyed playing 12-string guitar, keyboard, harmonica and accordion, and I've always enjoyed singing. I remember one year I asked to get a karaoke machine for Christmas, and not to actually sing karaoke, but to use it for multitrack recording. Thankfully I did get that karaoke machine, and I put it to good use making some basic recordings with my keyboard. It wasn't much, but it was a start.

At some point in my later teen years, I transitioned from recording to making music with a computer, which is how I still write music nowadays. I will admit that the work I put into my music is a lot and it can be tiring sometimes. Everything I do musically, I do alone. I write the music and lyrics, perform all the singing, and I edit and mix myself. I also handle the distribution and social media marketing. Even the website you're on was created by me, and I'm by no means a pro web developer, so creating this has been a challenge, but also a rewarding experience.

I consider myself a novelty artist. Nowadays just about any song idea you can think of has been sung about so many times that almost any idea can sound like a tired cliché. What I love about novelty music is that I have the freedom to think outside the box and come up with unconventional ideas. Why write a pop song about dancing at the club when you can write a pop song about baking chocolate chip cookies and where the lyrics contain an actual recipe? It's ridiculous, and that's what makes it so fun to create.

When I'm not writing, I enjoy listening to rock, including alternative and indie music. I also love funk, disco, and pop.
